The content on this site describes my services for general information only. It is not an offer to contract and does not create a client relationship. I try to keep it accurate but make no guarantee that it is complete or current.
The design, text and code of this site belong to me. You may link to it and share it, but may not copy it for commercial use without permission.
Engagements
Every paid engagement is governed by a separate written agreement or statement of work, which sets out the scope, fees, schedule, payment terms and ownership of the work. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement applies. In general:
- work begins after a quote is accepted in writing and any agreed deposit is received;
- invoices are payable within the period stated on them, and applicable taxes such as GST are added where required;
- on full payment, ownership of the deliverables and related intellectual property is assigned to the client, excluding open-source components and my pre-existing general tools, which are licensed for use in the project;
- each side keeps the other's confidential information confidential, during and after the engagement.
Independent contractor
I provide services as an independent contractor, not as an employee, partner or agent of any client. I control how and when the work is performed, supply my own equipment, and am responsible for my own taxes and business expenses.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website. Liability for client work is set out in the relevant engagement agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
