I want everyone to be able to use this website and the software I build, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.
Standard
This site aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the Accessible Canada Act and most Canadian accessibility guidance.
What I've done
- semantic HTML with a logical heading structure and landmarks;
- full keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator and a skip link;
- text and interface colours that meet contrast requirements;
- text alternatives for meaningful graphics, including the animated project drawing;
- smooth scrolling and entrance animations turned off when your system asks for reduced motion;
- layouts that work from small phones up to large screens and at 200% zoom.
