This policy explains how Muhammed Dilaver (“I”, “me”), a self-employed software developer operating as a sole proprietorship in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, handles personal information in connection with dilaver.ca and my software development services. I follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies, and other applicable provincial privacy laws.

What this website collects
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracking. It has no accounts and no database. The contact form does not send anything to a server: it opens a draft email in your own email application, and nothing is shared until you choose to send it.
Like almost every website, the hosting provider automatically processes technical data such as IP addresses and browser type in server logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to identify or profile visitors.
Information you send me
When you email or call me, or become a client, I may collect:
- your name, email address, phone number and company;
- details about your project that you choose to share;
- billing information needed to issue invoices and keep business records.
Why I use it
- to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote;
- to deliver the services we agree on and communicate about them;
- to invoice, keep accounting records and meet tax obligations;
- to comply with the law.
I do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and I do not use it for any purpose you have not consented to or that the law does not permit.
Commercial electronic messages
In line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), I will only email you in reply to your enquiry or in connection with work we are doing together. I do not run a mailing list and will not add you to one.
Sharing and storage
I share personal information only with service providers I rely on to run my business, such as email, accounting and hosting providers, and only as needed for them to provide their services. Some of these providers may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under local law. I may also disclose information where required by law.
Client data in projects
When I build or maintain software for a client, I may have access to personal information the client controls, such as their customer records. I handle that information only on the client's instructions, for the purpose of the work, under the confidentiality terms of our agreement, and I return or delete it when the work ends.
Retention and safeguards
I keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Business and tax records are kept for the period required by the Canada Revenue Agency, generally six years. I protect information with reasonable safeguards, including encrypted devices, multi-factor authentication and restricted access.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use, subject to legal and contractual limits. Send requests to muhammeddilaverapp@gmail.com and I will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with my response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
